Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This short policy explains how Whodunly uses cookies and similar storage. Whodunly is a product by Vyomio, a small, independent studio based in Sydney, Australia. The good news: we keep this simple. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
The short version
- We use only essential cookies — mainly a login/session cookie for people who sign in.
- We use your browser's local storage to save your gameplay on your device.
- Our analytics are cookieless by default.
- We do not use any advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell your data.
Essential cookies
If you create an account and sign in, our sign-in provider sets a session cookie so the game knows you are logged in as you move around. Without it, staying signed in would not work. These cookies are strictly necessary for the service, so they do not require consent.
Local storage (not really a cookie)
Most of what makes the game work on your device uses your browser's local storage rather than cookies. If you play anonymously, your progress, streak, statistics, and settings are stored only in your browser's local storage on your device — they never reach our servers. This is how you can play the whole game without an account and without us collecting anything.
Analytics — cookieless by default
We like to know roughly how many people play and which pages are popular, so we can improve the game. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics by default — it does not set tracking cookies and does not build a profile of you across sites. If we ever needed anything that required consent, we would ask you first.
No advertising or tracking cookies
Whodunly carries no ads. We do not use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or third-party trackers that follow you around the web.
How to control cookies and local storage
You are always in control:
- Browser settings let you block or delete cookies, and clear site data (local storage). Note that clearing local storage will erase anonymous game progress saved on that device, and blocking the session cookie will stop you staying signed in.
- Signing out ends your session.
- Deleting your account removes your account data as described in our Privacy Policy.
