Refund Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This Refund Policy explains how refunds work for paid Whodunly features. Whodunly is a product by Vyomio ("Vyomio", "we", "us"), a small, independent studio based in Sydney, Australia. It forms part of our Terms of Service. We have written it to be fair and to respect your rights under consumer law.
Your consumer-law rights come first
Whatever this policy says, you keep the rights the law gives you. In particular, the Australian Consumer Law provides consumer guarantees, and the EU/UK and other consumer-protection laws provide statutory rights (including, in some cases, a cooling-off period for digital purchases). Where those rights apply, they override anything in this policy that would give you less. If you are entitled to a remedy under the law, you will get it.
We bill you directly, through Stripe
You buy Whodunly subscriptions and case packs directly from us, with payments processed by Stripe — not through the Apple App Store or Google Play. That means refunds are handled by us (via Stripe), not by an app store, so please contact us rather than an app store for any refund.
Subscriptions (Sleuth Club)
- Auto-renewal and cancelling. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in the billing portal in your account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal.
- Access continues to the end of the period. When you cancel, you keep your paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that, your account simply returns to the free tier — you keep your history and streaks.
- No partial refunds for the current period. We do not generally refund the unused part of a billing period you have already started, since you keep full access for the rest of it. (This does not affect any statutory right you may have to a remedy.)
- Accidental renewals. If you were charged for a renewal you did not intend — for example you meant to cancel but missed it — contact us. We look at these fairly and, especially soon after a renewal, will often refund it.
Case packs (one-time digital purchases)
Case packs are digital content delivered to you immediately. A few honest notes:
- Because the content is delivered digitally and its solutions can be viewed straight away, once you have started playing or revealed the cases in a pack it is treated as "consumed", and it may not be refundable — except where consumer law says otherwise.
- Where the law gives you a cooling-off or withdrawal right for digital content, that right applies. In some places, beginning to use digital content right away can waive a withdrawal right, but only if you were told and agreed to that at purchase; where that has not happened, your statutory right stands.
- If a case pack is faulty, not as described, or does not work (for example, cases fail to load), you are entitled to a remedy under consumer law, which may include a refund — please contact us.
How to request a refund
Email us at [email protected] with:
- the email address on your account,
- what you bought (subscription or which case pack) and roughly when, and
- a short note on why you are asking.
We aim to reply within 5 business days. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method through Stripe; how long it then takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider.
Questions
Not sure whether you are entitled to a refund? Just ask — [email protected]. We would rather sort it out kindly than argue over a few dollars.
