How to play

  1. A fresh case is filed every day — same mystery for the whole world.
  2. Flip the exhibits one at a time, in order. Each flip costs a point.
  3. The fewer clues you spend before accusing, the higher your score.
  4. You get ONE accusation. Choose with care — the seal is final.
  5. Solve daily to keep your streak burning.
  6. Share your result grid — spoiler-free bragging rights.

Frequently asked
What happens if I accuse the wrong suspect?

The case goes cold — 0 points for the day. Free detectives hold one “case reopened” token per week: reopen the case, keep your streak eligible, and solve it for the honour (the score stays 0). Sleuth Club members reopen without limit.

When does a new case arrive?

One case a day, the same mystery for the whole world. It resets at YOUR local midnight — the countdown in the casebar is ticking toward it.

Do I need an account?

Never, to play. Your streak, results, and theme live in this browser. Sign in only if you want them synced across devices, ranked play, or the Club.

What is the Sleuth Club?

The subscription: the full case archive, the ranked ladder (a Glicko-2 rating and global leaderboard), deep stats, and monthly streak freezes. The paywall shows what's included.

I bought a case pack — where are my cases?

In the Archive. A case pack is a one-time purchase that unlocks 10 cases which are yours to keep forever. Open the Archive tab: your unlocked cases are ready to play, and the rest stay “sealed” until you unlock more or join the Sleuth Club. You don't have to be a member to buy or play a pack — and if you subscribe later, you simply get the whole archive, with your pack cases still yours. Cases you crack from the archive are tallied on your Detective Record under “Archive & packs”; they don't change your daily streak (that stays for the daily case only).

Are themes free?

Both first-class themes — Evidence Room (dark) and Reading Room (light) — are free forever. Accessibility is never paywalled. Premium cosmetic themes are a Club perk.

Does it work offline?

Yes — install the app (Add to Home Screen) and today's case is cached. Exhibits you've already flipped replay offline; fresh flips need a connection.

Can I play it like an app on my phone?

Absolutely — Whodunly installs to your home screen like a native app, with no App Store and nothing to download. On iPhone or iPad: open whodunly.com in Safari, tap the Share button, and choose “Add to Home Screen”. On Android: open it in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu, and choose “Add to Home screen” (or “Install app”). You'll get the Whodunly icon on your home screen, and launching it from there opens the game full-screen — no address bar, no browser chrome — so it looks and feels exactly like a downloaded app. Today's case is cached for instant, offline-friendly play, and it slots right in beside your other apps.

How do I share feedback or report a problem?

We'd love to hear it. Tap the “Feedback” link in the footer — on the Settings screen or any legal page (Privacy, Terms…) — to open our feedback board. There you can suggest features, vote on ideas others have raised, and report bugs, all in one place. You can post with just an email, no account needed, and we read every submission.
